Guess what I did this weekend?!? I have a lot of great pictures to post, but so far haven't been home long enough to actually put together a post worthy of the weekend I've just had! It's coming, I promise, but for now...enjoy these pictures which only tell a portion of the story!
+ 1 - 0 | § ¶fun with Brooke and Travis

I was gonna post this picture over the weekend (it's from Friday night at the get together for Travis and Brooke) but then I didn't and I figured I'd just wait and post a different picture (this one is from Karen and may look familliar, if you read her site) after we spent some more time with them on Monday, but I didn't take any pictures so....that's us with Brooke and Travis!!! They are leaving in a few weeks to go work in a church in New Zealand! We just saw them in a big group on Friday so last night we hung out with just them. I like them so much. Even when we don't have tons of huge conversations and are just kind of sitting around, fiddling with computers and watching kids go wild (including Travis!) it's nice just to be with them. And, we got to experience Zane testing his lungs for a while! He's just cute....and loud! This is from the other night too, but I think it's cute. He likes me :)

So, today was going along fine, normal and all, until about 1:15 when I suddenly began seeing swirls of light. That hasn't happened too many times before, but it has happened, so I knew what was coming: headache. Bad headache. I left work after being assured that they would survive without me and came home and promptly slept for a few hours. The headache subsided and the swirls were gone, but I was left feeling shaky, weak and slightly nauseated. I don't know if that can be classified as a migrane, but it is definitely not a garden variety headache. I hate headaches for many reasons, but mainly because they happen in my head (not in the hypochondriac way that so many other ailments do!) See, that is where my brain lives, so when a headache happens, I can't think clearly and generally just have to shut down completely until it passes. Not that I really think it's a whole lot better to feel pain anywhere else, but what could be a mild pain in my leg, turns into a crippling pain in my head. Does that make sense? Anyway, I think the worst of it is gone and I hope it stays gone.

So, this picture was taken when Karen and Juanito's little Zane was just a few hours old! Isn't he a cutie? I was sleeping when Karen called and said he was born, but she convinced me to trek over to the hospital and see him even though it was 1:00am! I'm glad I did, because I haven't been able to see him much since- life has been PACKED!!! This week will hopefully be a bit quieter.
Also, an update on wee Beth- she came home from the hospital on August 3- the same day as Zane! And...Diana, Karla and I are booked to go meet her in February!!! Woo hoo! And that's about it for now. I spent the weekend on the Crisis Team for work- a relatively easy $50- and went through a bunch of stuff I want to get rid of! Nice and mellow for the most part.

The other night, a bunch of us gathered and Keith and Karla's for dinner and to party with Richard and Nancy and their cute Anton! Here are some other cute kids! Richard is one of my friends from His Mansion where we served together back in the late 90's! Wow- that was a long time ago! Anyway, he and his family were passing through and whenever mansion-ites are near, we have a get together! It was great to hang out and catch up with friends. In other news, it's sweltering these days so I'm trying to stick to my living room where my little air conditioner works like crazy to keep me cool! It's amazing how the temperature rises about 10 degrees as I pass through the arch into my dining room. I'm just thankful that I have one cool room! That's about it- Karen is in the hospital, possibly in labor at this very moment! I'm just waiting, sort of patiently, to hear from them. I'll share the news when I know!
